Research

My research focuses on the intersections of strategy formulation and renewal, top management teams, and corporate governance.  I study strategy as a configuration of resources and capabilities that are uniquely assembled to create a long-term advantage.  To understand strategy, one must ask how firms differ in their resources and capabilities. Equally important, one should ask how firms differ in the ways they manage and govern their resources, which is at the core of my research.
